We’re hosting our first Korea Symposium!

Korea Symposium

We couldn’t be more excited to announce our first Merrithew® Mindful Movement Symposium in Seoul, South Korea for 2019.

Following our recent UK Symposium, we’re eager to be showcasing new programming led by Merrithew Master Instructor Trainers, and plenty of sessions with Korean translation included. While there are many exciting things to look forward to at this new Symposium, here’s a rundown of some of our favorites:

Exciting new programming

Experience our most highly-anticipated revamped STOTT PILATES® Post Rehab programming—featuring the latest information in exercise science on Osteoporosis and Scoliosis. These workshops include user-friendly information and tools to help you make accurate, personalized choices for clients while mitigating the risk for injury with exercise modifications. Coinciding with the debut of these workshops is the launch of new products that will be used as part of the education.

In addition, this will be first time we’re offering the Merrithew Intro to Fascial Movement workshop course in South Korea. Taught by Master Instructor Trainer Laureen Dubeau, this fascinating course explains why the fascia plays such as crucial role in movement and performance. Laureen will demonstrate that there’s more to fascia than self-myofascial release by explaining the fascial movement variables and how they can be used to augment programming.

Symposium Instructors

Plenty of diverse sessions

You can also look forward to popular workshops led by other Master Instructor Trainers including Wayne Seeto and Moira Merrithew. In addition to teaching the new STOTT PILATES Post Rehab programming, Wayne will be leading STOTT PILATES Level 1 Interval Training on the Jumpboard or Cardio-Tramp®, where he will explain how to challenge a client’s cardiovascular system, build endurance, improve abdominal stability and strengthen the lower body through jump sequences—he will also include exercise variations and modifications. He will also be teaching STOTT PILATES Postural Analysis Review, and will discuss the differences between static and dynamic posture, the importance of considering how each posture affects exercise choices and the necessary modifications.

Co-founder and Master Instructor Trainer Moira Merrithew will be teaching the STOTT PILATES Advanced Matwork: From Then to Now, and STOTT PILATES Focus & Conditioning for Golf on the Mat. The Advanced Matwork examines the roots of Joseph Pilates’ exercises and how the inclusion of updated information resulted in a more contemporary approach—you’ll actually experience how the original exercises were taught and learn how the modifications were introduced along the way.

The workshop for golf teaches the important aspects of the golf swing and includes a dynamic warm up designed to prepare the mind and body for the sport, ensure strong performance and reduce the risk of injury. The program also helps maintain physical conditioning during off season.
