Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on shipments
In light of the current global shipping situation with many freight carriers, Merrithew and/or our carrier partners cannot be held responsible for, or make compensation for unforeseen delays caused by circumstances beyond our control. These circumstances may include shipping company delays, customs or border clearance delays, inclement weather and natural disasters.
Upon delivery, inspect your order and note any shipping damage to the outer box/skid on the carrier’s waybill prior to signing for receipt of the order. If you appoint someone to sign for your order on your behalf, please ensure that they are aware of this requirement and are over 18 years of age.
We will not be responsible for damage to your order that is not reported and noted on the waybill. Please use care when opening your freight. Box cutters should not be used as they may damage the upholstered parts of your equipment.
Any damage to product or missing/incorrect items must be reported to your salesperson or customer care within three (3) business days of receipt.
DVDs, Mats and accessories
Shipping rates are automatically calculated by the dimensional weight or actual weight of the products being shipped (whichever is the greater of the two). Rates are also determined by the service level selected and the final shipping destination.
- Within continental US
Small and mid-sized items (DVDs, Flex-Band exercisers, Mini Stability Balls™, Fitness Circle® resistance rings, education manuals, etc.) are shipped via standard service courier and should arrive within approximately 5–8 business days
- Within Canada
Small and mid-sized items (DVDs, Flex-Band exercisers, Mini Stability Balls™, Fitness Circle® resistance rings, education manuals, etc.) are shipped via standard postal service and should arrive within approximately 5–8 business days
- Outside continental US and Canada
Small and mid-sized items (DVDs, Flex-Band exercisers, Mini Stability Balls, Fitness Circle resistance rings, education manuals, etc.) are shipped via express service courier and should arrive within approximately 5–7 business days
Reformers and large equipment
Within continental US and Canada
Large equipment is shipped by ground via a freight carrier, carefully packed in a cardboard box and secured to a wooden skid.
When placing your order, you will be advised of your delivery options:
- Curbside is a liftgate service, delivered to curbside as close to your building as possible. You do not need to assist the carrier in removing the equipment from the truck. It is recommended that two people are available to assist with unpacking and carrying into the premises. You are responsible for unpacking, installation and disposal of packaging materials
- White glove service includes the carrier unpacking your shipment, carrying it inside and leaving it in the room of your choice (additional charges apply for stairs). You do not need to assist the carrier in removing the equipment from the truck. The carrier will remove the packing material and skids
Unless specified all freight quoted is for ‘curbside’ delivery and does not include inside delivery or set up of the equipment as part of the delivery service. Once your shipment is in transit, your delivery method (for example, curbside or white glove) or destination cannot be easily changed. If changes are possible, carrier fees may apply.
You are responsible for setting up your own equipment. Reformers, Wall Units and Ladder Barrels arrive 90% assembled. Cadillacs and Stability Chairs™ require additional assembly. All products are shipped with instructions and basic tools to facilitate this process and our customer care team is available to assist with any questions you may have.
Delivery price quotes include one scheduled delivery attempt. If the carrier attempts to make the delivery at the appointed time and you are not present, a re-delivery fee will apply. Fees and policies vary from carrier to carrier and will be the responsibility of the consignee. The carrier will call you to schedule your delivery. Delivery is generally done during regular business hours. If available, after-hour or weekend deliveries will be subject to additional fees. Additional charges for stairs and unusual conditions (e.g. narrow passageways, remote locations) may also apply. Please make us aware in advance so that the freight quote may be adjusted accordingly. Carrier storage fees may apply in the event you delay or postpone your delivery after scheduling it. On rare occasions, unforeseen circumstances may cause your delivery to be rescheduled.
Outside continental US and Canada
Standard quoted shipping options include ocean freight to nearest port or air freight to nearest airport. Door-to-door delivery may be available for your order at an additional charge. Contact us for details.
Local customs and duties outside US and Canada
Unless prearranged, buyer will subject to import duties and taxes levied when a shipment reaches its destination country. Additional charges for customs clearance are the Buyer’s responsibility; Buyer is considered the importer and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which Buyer is receiving the goods.
Outside continental US and Canada
Standard quoted shipping options include ocean freight to nearest port or air freight to nearest airport. Contact us for details. Unless prearranged, buyer is responsible for payment of all import duties, local taxes and customs and brokerage fees levied when a shipment reaches its destination country. Buyer is considered the importer and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which buyer is receiving the goods.
