Golf Conditioning Video Series: Maintain mental focus and sink those putts!

In Part 4 of our new Golf Conditioning Video Series, Alan Palmer, Head Golf Professional at St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Canada, demonstrates a simple putting drill, focusing on how tempo with optimal grip pressure will fine-tune your distance control, helping you sink those putts whether they are two or 20 feet away!

In the second part of the video, Moira Merrithew, Master Instructor Trainer and Executive Director, Education, takes you through exercises that focus on breathing to demonstrate its effect on posture, spinal mobility, body awareness and inner calm. Breathing well ensures optimal oxygenation of the blood, controls your heart rate variable, and improves circulation to avoid muscular tension.

And last but not least, Moira talks about wrist alignment, mobility and strength to ensure club face control, providing more accuracy with your driver, irons and on the putting green. A lack of wrist mobility and strength to control optimal wrist positioning can also lead to excessive tension in the forearm, elbow and/or shoulder joint and lead to injury over time.

These exercises combine elements of STOTT PILATES® and ZEN•GA® Fascial Movement, two education programs within Merrithew’s mindful movement offerings.
