Looking for new programming ideas to take your clients to the next level? London is calling!

For Merrithew® Master and Lead Instructor Trainers, presenting at a Mindful Movement Symposium is the most anticipated event of the year. And our last Symposium of 2019 in London, UK, from Nov. 7-10 is no different.

“I always look forward to working at well-organized events like this where you’re learning in a really progressive environment and learning updated material. The networking and chance to reconnect with your friends and fellow instructors is very valuable,” says Jennifer Dahl, a Merrithew Lead Instructor Trainer.

“We need opportunities like this— this is what inspires us to grow as a community and it inspires me to learn and increase my knowledge and skill base working within this industry as a professional.”

In this video, our Master and Lead Instructor Trainers give you a sneak peek of what you can expect and what they’re most excited about for this year’s UK Symposium. We can’t wait to see you there!

What will instructors get out of the UK Symposium?

Here are three main takeaways, according to Jennifer:

  • Discover alternative training modalities and increase your knowledge and skill base
  • Recharge your mind and body in an environment that fosters and encourages positive exchange and personal growth
  • Bring back innovative programming ideas to challenge and inspire you, your clients and other instructors at your studio

What are you pumped about teaching?

“I’m excited to teach the Halo® Training Instructor Foundation Course, which is a seven-hour, full-day course. There will be lots of variety, athletic-based exercises. Expect a challenge, a lot of sweat, but we’re going to have fun too.

“I’m also going to be teaching some shorter Halo-based workshops, such as Halo Training Intro to Interval Training and Halo Training Intro to Integrated Bodyweight Training. …These are great for your athletic-driven clients who are looking for a little bit more of a push in their workouts.”

“As a physical therapist, I’m really happy to present STOTT PILATES Optimization of the Shoulder Complex. We’ll be talking about biomechanics, injuries and main considerations when working with these clients.

“We’ll explain the most recent research and how to transfer that information into the practice with exercise.”

“My focus this year is on fascia. I think it’s the word on everyone’s mind these days. I’m looking forward to connecting you to the latest findings in fascial research and sharing how this evolved understanding can be expressed through movement. We’ll be doing movement that you’re familiar with, but maybe now, with a fascial lens, you’ll see the movements and be able to understand or explain them differently.

“My main goal is to add a deeper layer to your education and hopefully enhance how you witness and experience movement in your own body, and how you explain and assign imagery for your clients’ experience.”

“I’m teaching some of the new Total Barre® workshops, which are always really fun for me to present and fun for you to learn to feel inspired by music and incorporate new programming for your clients’ needs. We’re also introducing the Sliding Mobility Disks, which we’ll be using in a Matwork routine to add different challenges and fun to your clients’ programming to help them stay interested and achieve their goals.”
