The members of our esteemed team of Pilates Instructor Trainers are accomplished and internationally sought-after educators known for their comprehensive knowledge, dedication and professionalism. Each hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES® method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training.

A diverse group, they come from varied backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance, and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.

Bio

Sharon Currie brings more than 30 years of experience in Pilates and movement education. She has a foundation in classical ballet training through the Royal Academy of Dance and holds both a university degree and a postgraduate diploma in commerce.

Sharon became fully certified with Polestar Pilates in 2004, completed full STOTT PILATES® certification in 2009, and was appointed a Merrithew® Instructor Trainer in 2012. She has owned and operated five Pilates studios, providing substantial experience in studio leadership, business development, and instructor education. She continues to train clients while mentoring instructors across New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Online, with a focus on contemporary Merrithew education spanning athletic performance and rehabilitation-based Pilates.

She delivers a comprehensive portfolio of Merrithew education, including STOTT PILATES, Total Barre®, Fascial Movement, Functional Anatomy, and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation courses & workshops, forming an integrated professional development pathway for instructors working across the fitness, rehabilitation and wellness industries.

Sharon Currie is a highly regarded Merrithew Instructor Trainer, recognised for her advanced expertise in movement and anatomy, authentic and approachable teaching methodology, and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional education within the global Pilates community.

Sharon continues to teach clients at her studio in the Hawke's Bay of New Zealand and understands the practical application of STOTT PILATES education in daily classes across a myriad of evolving client goals.

Whether mentoring future instructors or working closely with clients one-on-one, Sharon combines expertise, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping people move with confidence, build lasting strength, and realise their full potential through Pilates.
