The Toronto Corporate Training Center: A hub for education and success

CTC Student

Visit the Toronto Corporate Training Center on any day of the week and you’ll find a hive of activity.

Not only does the CTC offer Merrithew® education, including the STOTT PILATES® Comprehensive and Intensive Programs and the STOTT PILATES Rehab Program multiple times a year, but it also hosts new programming, continuing education, Instructor Trainer weeks, private sessions for students and exams.

“As Merrithew’s Corporate Training Center, we have a large and diverse offering of teacher training courses throughout the year. Our head office Instructor Trainers have a well-known reputation, so a lot of people come from all over the world to train with them,” says Cora Timofte, the CTC Supervisor.

“The students are our main priority whether they are here for a course, workshop or special event. We strive to ensure they are getting the best value and experience out of their time with us,” she says.

The Corporate Training Center is a destination for many students and instructors who want to connect with Merrithew’s education team, broaden their skills and knowledge, and discover where it all began.

“Getting to learn directly from the head office ITs who have been trained and worked closely with the Master Instructor Trainers is something a lot of people value and want to experience first-hand. Students get to learn from some of the best in the business at the CTC,” she says.

Students also benefit from getting to spend time practicing at the studio with all the equipment—including Merrithew’s newest innovations— and being at company headquarters, where they can network with head office staff and find out about ways to further their education and careers.

“Since we offer the STOTT PILATES Comprehensive Program, students are here full-time, so we get to develop a much closer relationship with them,” Cora says. “It’s nice for us to be part of someone’s journey and watch them flourish and grow. It’s rewarding to know that we facilitated that.”

Cora and Geeti Mohua, the CTC Coordinator, say their favorite part of the job is interacting with all the diverse and passionate students who come through the CTC.

“We’re on a first-name basis with the students. We have discussions with them, sometimes we’ll go for lunch or we’ll be their client when they’re doing their apprenticeship hours. It’s like we’re part of a family,” Geeti says.
