Runner Series: Side Splits: Platform Leg Pressing & Carriage Leg Pressing

This exercise challenges balance and works on the abductors.

It also works the lateral rotators, which is important for runners who often focus only on forward and back movements of the legs.

Instead of holding the traditional plie position for this exercise, have the client lean forward slightly to give the hip flexors a break and add a stretch to the Achilles tendons and calf muscles.
