In this multi-planar functional assessment workshop, simple foundational movement evaluations that help assess a client’s mobility, stability, balance and sensory awareness are described and experienced. Then, effective ways of incorporating props like the Stability Barrel, Toning Ball, Flex-Band® and Mini Stability Ball are covered. Participants leave with a clearer understanding of how to implement new interdisciplinary concepts within the framework of their current knowledge base.

STOTT PILATES Matwork Programming for Foundational Movement - Part B

Participants discover how to use the information gathered from the foundational movement assessments in Part A to effectively program a floor-based session. Starting with a dynamic warm-up that integrates the multi-planar functional assessment incorporating the STOTT PILATES Basic Principles as it reinforces these important movement patterns. A variety of props including the Stability Barrel, Flex-Band, Mini Stability Ball and Toning Ball are also included to explore programming options that will address some of the more common movement dysfunctions that may be encountered. Then exercise variables and fascial movement concepts will be executed to increase mobility and dynamic stability.

STOTT PILATES Reformer Programming for Foundational Movement - Part C

In this key workshop, participants will review the multi-planar functional assessments that were explored extensively in Part A of this series, then discuss and experience Reformer-based variations and modifications to illicit positive responses by incorporating fascial concepts and modern training protocols. Beginning with a dynamic standing warm-up, a client’s mobility, stability, balance and sensory awareness can be assessed and Reformer-based sequences employed to deal with common dysfunctions and restore more efficient movement to everyday life.
