DR. BRYAN DIFRANCESCO
This edition of the Partner Profile features Dr. Bryan DiFrancesco from Stoney Creek, Ontario who has completed training in the STOTT PILATES® Rehabilitation Program. Bryan is the Clinical Director of Active Body Clinic and a Physiotherapist, Chiropractor and Acupuncture Provider.
Bryan was first introduced to Pilates while studying Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in the late 1990’s. He became intrigued over the next decade, as new medical literature being published around the world on spinal and scapular stability began to continually support the exercise principles originally espoused by STOTT PILATES®. During the beginning of his physiotherapy and chiropractic career, Bryan recognized that he had a strong scientific understanding but a weak practical application and methodology to assist his patients in re-training their stability and motor control. Bryan enrolled in the STOTT PILATES Rehab program to gain clinically relevant skills that are uniquely applied to world class Pilates equipment. With this training, he feels he can now offer his clients the most progressive opportunity for rehabilitation.
Bryan finds equipment from Merrithew™ to be unparalleled in function for the creative and evidenced-informed health professional. Currently in the Active Body Clinic, they have a V2 Max Plus™ Reformer, Mat Converter, Arc Barrel, Rotational Diskboard™,Pilates Edge™, Jumpboard, Fitness Circle® Lite and many other small accessories.
Within the clinic they have built an extension to specifically utilize their V2 Max Plus Reformers and create a Pilates Therapeutic exercise room. He depends on his equipment to provide his patients with high-level, systematically progressed rehabilitation exercise. He has had great results using Pilates to treat conditions such as low back and neck pain, sciatica, headaches, shoulder, hip and knee pain.
Not only does Bryan and his team find that STOTT PILATES' systematic approach to exercise allows for easy patient progression, but their patients enjoy the STOTT PILATES method which has resulted in strict compliance to both their clinic and home based exercise programs.
