Taking care of our community
Toronto, ON, March 20, 2020
Dear Merrithew® Community,
We are reaching out to connect with you regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. Our top priority is the health and safety of our community and we thank you for your cooperation and appreciate your support during this time.
Over the past weeks, we have been working diligently to create plans to help protect our employees, clients and partners. We are committed to ensuring we do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and to keeping you informed along the way.
We have taken several precautions over the last week. Some of those actions are:
Temporary closure of the Merrithew Studio & Corporate Training Center: Our Toronto facility is now closed. During this time, there will be no workshops or courses. For precautionary measures we will be undertaking a thorough cleaning of the entire studio facility, including all of our equipment and props. We will be monitoring the situation daily and will assess if an extended closure is required.
Social distancing: We are adhering to public health official warnings to reduce contact with the public. Merrithew has chosen to withdraw from several large events over the coming months and are encouraging our employees to avoid any public gatherings or crowds and to remain vigilant in hand washing and personal hygiene. In addition, our office has implemented a plan to allow employees to work from home whenever possible over the next three weeks.
Suspension of our “white glove” in home delivery and installs & service related calls: For the next three weeks, we will offer customers delivery as normal, however we will not be offering in home or studio set up of equipment.
In addition, we are encouraging our community to:
Follow the World Health Organization’s prevention guidelines: Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, use alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available, cough and/or sneeze into a tissue or into the bend of your arm, not your hand, avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Follow a social distancing plan: Avoid large crowds and gatherings, maintain 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone coughing or sneezing. Stay home and/or self-monitor for a period of 14 days if you’re feeling unwell or if you suspect you may have been exposed to COVID-19.
Clean all equipment and props regularly: We’ve put together some tips here on how to best clean the high-touch surfaces on your equipment and a few other strategies you can put in place at home to minimize the spread of germs, as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You can view our full guidelines and recommendations here.
As we continue to navigate this rapidly changing situation, we will be staying in contact with our community through all of our communication channels. We encourage you to stay connected with us online via social media and our blog. We’ll be sharing more articles, videos and online workout resources to support you – more to come!
We are monitoring the situation daily and will provide updates or changes as necessary. Merrithew is committed to keeping you informed. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at customercare@merrithew.com.
We wish the best to our community during these challenging times and look forward to resuming full operation in the near future.
Sincerely,
Merrithew
