STOTT PILATES® Intro to Essential Stability Chair™


Few individual pieces of fitness equipment offer the programmability of the highly versatile Split-Pedal Stability Chair. In this workshop developed by the Merrithew team, participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of the Chair and explore the features, including the handles and the split pedal function. Learn functional exercises that focus on core and peripheral strength from a variety of positions, including standing, sitting, prone and side-lying. Discover how many exercises can be modified to take advantage of the impressive split-pedal feature.

  1. Apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to Essential-level Stability Chair exercises.
  2. Understand movement essence and exercise goals.
  3. Learn how to improve core stability and increase peripheral strength safely using the Stability Chair.
  4. Learn cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness.
