Training a team is a unique and dynamic experience for both the athletes and the trainer. A team can be any group that comes together and shares a common goal. Improving athleticism requires a functional approach to movement training that targets speed, agility and quickness. Prepared by the experts at Merrithew™, this workshop is designed to teach concepts used for team training through the application of a specifically designed workout that will increase athleticism, decrease the incidence of injuries and improve overall performance. The training concepts of the CORE™ Athletic Conditioning and Performance Training™ program will be discussed in conjunction with this workout.

Learning objectives

  1. Describe basic variables that can be manipulated to optimize team training.
  2. Build workouts with an emphasis towards speed, agility, and quickness with modifications to suit various teams or groups.
  3. Create appropriate circuits and workouts for teams or groups based on their abilities, needs and goals.
  4. Discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in working with a team, and provide possible solutions.
