Instructor Trainer bios

The STOTT PILATES® Faculty, or members of our esteemed team of Instructor Trainers, is made up of highly qualified and internationally sought-after educators who are known for their dedication, professionalism and attention to detail. All of our faculty members hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training. A diverse group, they come from various backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.

Bio

Heather Lawson is an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew™ specializing in Total Barre™ and is a Lead IT for STOTT PILATES®. A valuable member of the company's prestigious programming team, she has been teaching Pilates for over 10 years and is also an ACE Certified Instructor. Heather graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Performance. Heather was involved in the most recent DVD production for Merrithew as a featured performer and instructor

Bio
Holly received her STOTT PILATES® certification in 2001, became an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew specializing in STOTT PILATES in 2011, and CORE Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training in 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from the University of Michigan, and a Masters of Fine Arts is Choreography and Performance from Mills College in Oakland, California. Holly is the founder and CEO of Blue Sparrow Pilates; a Licensed Training Center located in San Francisco. With her passion for dance and her wide ranging experience in teaching movement, she offers over a decade of experience working with a wide-ranging clientele, from the highest-level of athletes to rehabilitation. Holly is dedicated to helping students master the skills required to become successful fitness professionals, and is driven to share her knowledge and excitement with new teachers.

Bio
Holly Shaw completed her full certification with STOTT PILATES® in 2014 and went on to become an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew™ specializing in STOTT PILATES Mat and Reformer and Total Barre™. She teaches private sessions and group classes at Pacific NW Pilates and dances professionally with Éowyn Emerald & Dancers and skinner/kirk DANCE ENSEMBLE in Portland, Oregon. Holly has performed internationally in Japan, South Korea, Germany, and India and consistently uses Pilates as a form of cross training for her dance career. Along with her pre-physical therapy studies, Holly graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA in Ballet with emphases in performance and teaching. Holly specializes in training athletes and dancers, and also enjoys guiding older adults and special needs clients to using effective and efficient movement in all areas of life.

Bio

Ineke Rush began her training in Pilates at the age of 12 in New York City with Carola Trier, a colleague and student of Joseph Pilates, whom she trained with extensively for 2 years. After a 10 year career as a professional ballet and modern dancer, Ineke pursued her Pilates certification with STOTT PILATES. She is fully certified to work with all levels as well as those with post rehab injuries and other special conditions. An Instructor Trainer for Merrithew™ since 2004, she has taught STOTT PILATES certification courses and workshops all over the Bay Area and Northern California. In 2006 Ineke opened Mindful Movement Collective, a movement and wellness center which became a Merrithew™ Licensed Training Center in 2008. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer and is licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio in massage therapy. She is also on faculty at Ohlone College in Fremont and Newark, California, in both the Kinesiology and Theatre and Dance Departments.

Bio

Originally from Russia, Irina started her ballet training in early childhood. She discovered Pilates while rehabilitating after a knee injury and since then has used Pilates as a part of her training regime. Pilates helped her prolong her dancing career and avoid injury.

Retiring from dance in 2012, Irina obtained her STOTT PILATES® Certification, and in 2016 she became an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew specializing in STOTT PILATES. Currently Irina teaches in Tokyo, Japan.
