The members of our esteemed team of Pilates Instructor Trainers are accomplished and internationally sought-after educators known for their comprehensive knowledge, dedication and professionalism. Each hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES® method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training.
A diverse group, they come from varied backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance, and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.

Bio
During her university days, Yi-Ling’s swimming coach encouraged her to explore Pilates to improve her swimming performance. She was impressed by the significant progress she made as a result of adding Pilates to her training regimen.
That success piqued her curiosity and interest. And so, after graduating from university, she took all the STOTT PILATES® Level 1 courses and the ISP course. In 2015, she passed the Level 1 Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels exam.
She credits STOTT PILATES as helping her relieve her low-back and knee pain caused by car accidents. In 2013, she started teaching Pilates at Alignment Fitness Studio in Taipei, Taiwan.
She completed all the STOTT PILATES Advanced courses and successfully passed the Level 2 practical exam at Merrithew’s Toronto Corporate Training Center to get her full certification in 2016.
She became a Merrithew® Instructor Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES Matwork and Reformer in 2020. Sharing her enthusiasm for STOTT PILATES with her clients, she helps them improve their health and wellbeing.

Bio
Yoko graduated from Yokohama National University with a degree in Health & Physical Education and has been a Merrithew® Instructor Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES® since 2007. Yoko has a passion for aerobics and has over 20 years experience teaching instructor courses, has competed in national and international competitions, and acted as a judge at such events in Japan. Yoko particularly enjoys working with the aging population, integrating post-rehabilitation techniques and coaching and conditioning sports to help them achieve success, and acts as a presenter at pilates events in Tokyo. Yoko opened a Merrithew Hosting Training Center ”YOKO-SO PILATES OMOTESANDO” in Tokyo, Japan, in 2020.

Bio
A former personal trainer of 10 years, Yu Lan graduated from Henan Sports University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2004, specializing in aerobics dance and artistic gymnastics. Yu Lan was introduced to the Pilates method and started teaching Pilates in 2012. She founded Yulan Pilates Studio in 2014. After taking many different brands of Pilates training over the years, Yu Lan set her mind and ambition on STOTT PILATES®, and applied for her studio to become a Merrithew® Host Training Center in 2016. She trained to become a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor after that. In 2019, she completed the STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer courses in Mat and Reformer at the Merrithew Corporate Training Center in Toronto, Canada, becoming a member of the prestigious Merrithew Instructor Trainer team.

Bio
Peter was born into a family of educators and loves teaching. When he first encountered Pilates in 2015, he found his calling practicing and teaching Pilates. He completed his first STOTT PILATES® education course in 2018 and became a STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer in 2023. Peter sees teaching Pilates as a way of connecting people, not just to their mind and body, but as a way of fostering interconnectedness. Beyond that, he believes education is about empowering people. Once people better understand and believe in themselves, they will move better, become stronger, and have healthier, happier lives.

Bio
Yu-Chen Huang was born and raised in Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan College with a Master of Physical Education in Dance Theory before going on tour with Ku & Dance group. She learned about STOTT PILATES® in 2012, after looking for a way to reduce the chances of injury from long-term high-intensity training. The benefits she realized through the method inspired her to share STOTT PILATES with more people. She was honored to become a Merrithew® Instructor Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES in 2015. She is currently working at the Merrithew Licensed Training Center in Taiwan, the National Yi-Lan University and St. Mary’s Junior College of Medicine, Nursing and Management as a certified instructor/ lecturer and also provides professional coaching at government facilities and private sports centers.

Elaine's journey began with a background in dance education and occupational therapy. In 2013, she discovered Pilates, reigniting her love for bodily movement. This newfound passion led her to pursue comprehensive STOTT PILATES® training and education in 2015. She returned to her hometown of Chiayi City and established NOUS STUDIO, the city's premier fully equipped STOTT PILATES facility.
Today, as a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor Trainer, Elaine is dedicated to sharing the scientific training and mind-body healing of STOTT PILATES within her community.

Bio
Yujung got introduced to various types of mind-body movement methods, including dance and the Stanislavsky Technique while in university, majoring in film and theatre in Korea. Her interest in mind-body movement led her to become a yoga instructor after a trip to India in 2008. Yujung lived and worked as a yoga instructor in New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and so on for almost 10 years, continuously learning and sharing various mindful movement practices with people.
Yujung discovered Reformer Pilates workouts while in Melbourne and decided to enroll in a Pilates course. Yujung enrolled in STOTT PILATES® Education courses at the Merrithew® Corporate Training Center in Toronto. Credited as one of the best choices ever made, Yujung became a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor in 2018 and an Instructor Trainer in 2021.
Since her return to Korea in 2019, Yujung has been teaching Pilates and interpreting STOTT PILATES courses at Trinity Pilates, a Merrithew Host Training Center in Seoul.

Yulong (Aaron) Chen is a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor with over 8 years of experience. He brings over his expertise as a Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES on Mat and Reformer. Aaron studied Physical Education and later started working as a fitness instructor. Unfortunately, Aaron suffered from an injury in his lower back during his weight training. However, Aaron did not give up and choose to embrace Rehabilitative Pilates to help him heal and regain his strength and mobility.
Aaron was fascinated by the power of STOTT PILATES and was deeply impressed by the clear logic and the philosophy of the practice. This determination led him to stay at Yulan Pilates for further studies where he met STOTT PILATES instructors from all over the world. With the passage of time, Aaron’s determination grew even stronger which led him to qualify as a STOTT PILATES instructor himself. Turning his passion into a profession, Aaron now enjoys spreading the joy of mindful movement and the healing benefits of Pilates to as many people as possible.

Zoey graduated from China Medical University with a degree in physical therapy, and started her practice as a physiotherapist in 2009. She started training in STOTT PILATES® in 2014, and applied the method to solve problems of chronic pain and movement dysfunction in her clients. Her training makes people physically and mentally strong and confident. The benefits she realized through STOTT PILATES inspired her to complete Full Certification in 2016. She became a Merrithew® Instructor Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES in 2017. She continues to share her enthusiasm for STOTT PILATES and work to improve people’s health.

From an early age, Emily demonstrated exceptional physical talent. She began systematic training in Chinese folk dance at the age of five, and twelve years of dedicated practice honed her keen physical expressiveness and body control. During her teenage years, she also excelled in sports, but a severe knee meniscus tear forced her into a prolonged rehabilitation period, temporarily ending her participation in conventional athletic activities.
In 2018, she discovered Pilates by chance and immersed herself in the STOTT PILATES® international certification system. Through this, she personally experienced its transformative benefits for individuals with sports injuries. Pilates not only restored her physical function but also reshaped her belief in movement.
In 2021, Emily founded Protolia® Pilates Studio, leading a team of ten professional instructors dedicated to hands-on teaching. Rooted in the multidisciplinary principles of STOTT PILATES, the studio focuses on providing precise training solutions for individuals with physical limitations, rehabilitation needs, and fitness enthusiasts. Over the years, she has been committed to popularizing Pilates—a mindful movement that combines scientific rigor with humanistic care—helping more people awaken their physical potential, enhance body awareness, and restore order to an out-of-control body.
