Instructor Trainer bios

The Merrithew Faculty, or members of our esteemed team of Instructor Trainers, is made up of highly qualified and internationally sought-after educators who are known for their dedication, professionalism and attention to detail. All of our faculty members hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES® method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training. A diverse group, they come from various backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.

Bio

Erica moved to Portland in 2004 where she worked as an orthopedic and sports physical therapist seeing patients of all ages and fitness levels. She turned to STOTT PILATES® following a spinal surgery and has since made it an integral component of her physical therapy practice. Working with clients at Element Wellness and Sports Rehabilitation and at Pacific NW Pilates in Portland, OR, Erica is able to teach the therapeutic application of STOTT PILATES. In 2014 she received the honor of becoming a Instructor Trainer for Merrithew specializing in STOTT PILATES Rehab.

Erica earned a BS in Exercise Physiology from Montana State University in 2002 where she was a member of the women’s golf team, a student athletic trainer for the MSU football team, became an AFAA certified aerobics and personal fitness instructor, and was trained in Olympic weightlifting. She became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2002 and earned her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the Mayo School of Health Sciences in 2004, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2006.
