Mindfulness, Interoception and the Relevance to Sports Performance

Athletes are driven to optimize performance. The field of sports psychology shows mindfulness practices help athletes constructively deal with anxiety, negative thoughts and emotions, all while improving performance. Recent research states that mindful based training techniques have a direct impact on the brain structures and pathways of interoception.

The workshop aims to bridge the gap between research and practical application of mind-body practices. Learn mindful breathing techniques utilizing various props to stimulate exteroception and interoception useful in both training and rehabilitation settings.
