Senior Designer

Position overview

Merrithew is seeking a multi-talented Senior Designer with strong creative skills for our fast-paced in-house design team. You will join talented designers and work on a variety of projects, from web pages, print and digital advertising, collateral, packaging, events and more.

As part of the Marketing & Communications department, you will work closely with the marketing team as well as other internal business divisions, and help them turn their needs and objectives into result-oriented design, in consideration of the brand, resources and timelines. Using your digital and print design skills, your wealth of experience in design strategy, conceptualization and your knowledge of production processes, you’ll create outstanding solutions along with the Creative Director. You already know that brand expression and experiences transcend across all touch points and you’re well-versed in brand management and brand extension.

What you'll do

  • Interpret briefs to develop creative and effective solutions that meet business objectives while maintaining the brand and sub-brands.
  • Create and produce campaign ideas and assets.
  • Develop and deliver strategic design solutions for a range of projects across a range of online/offline integrated marketing channels.
  • Maintain creative, conceptual and writing standards for our brand and sub-brands and participate in the design and execution of our retail and commercial products.
  • Provide overall concept and art direction for photo-shoot and video-shoots: art direct pre- and post-production process.
  • Researches, explores, and communicates best practices in design and discerns which competitive ideas are most effective.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to conceptualize ideas, bring concepts to life and deliver on the day-to-day design needs of the team.
  • Prepare files in accordance with print and digital/web production requirements while ensuring budgets and deadlines are met.
  • Support the Creative Director in actively mentoring and motivating a team of design professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring in

  • 6+ years of design experience.
  • Your ability to develop and execute integrated campaigns and projects; including e-commerce design projects that include production and image optimization.
  • A solid understanding of production, pre-press, print and web-based technologies.
  • Experience with web design process and best practices.
  • A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetic.
  • Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable time management skills and respect for deadlines & a desire to evolve in an energetic, fast-paced environment.
  • A positive and solution-driven attitude.
  • A wealth of knowledge on Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
