Manager, Education Programming

Position overview

The Education Programming Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Education Programming Team. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service delivery to both our Students and Instructor Trainers worldwide. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within our larger Education team on Programming projects and delivery.

This position would be ideal for those with successful management experience as well as excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.

Major responsibilities

Education programming

  • Oversee and assist Programming team to ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered to our education students and Instructor Trainers
  • Stay on top of current project through regular check-ins and oversight with the delivery team
  • Oversight of administration including student exams to ensure they are received, graded and returned with the highest efficiency
  • Guide the team and assist with day to day communications regarding the certification process and answer any questions that may arise
  • Assist to develop, improve and maintain education policies and procedure standards
  • Work with the Senior Manager on planning and delivery of current and ongoing Programming projects
  • Communicate with the larger Education team on Programming updates
  • Oversee the administration of internal and external ongoing projects, including hours spent
  • Provides ideas for blogs, monthly newsletters, communications and updates to partners and international community, etc
  • Organize the communications internally and externally to partners regarding Education Programs

Instructor trainer program & Merrithew education content

  • Recommend and implement Merrithew Programming for upcoming Trade Events, Symposia or other events; this includes but is not limited to suggesting presenters, workshop titles, equipment recommendations, booth staff, booth demos and objectives, mentoring of new staff and presenters
  • Ensure quality control of Instructor Trainer team (approximately 300+ worldwide), such as maintaining up to date qualifications, provide ongoing support, creating and implementing career paths to increase qualifications
  • Accept and evaluate new Instructor Trainer applicants for branded programs
  • Assist Senior Manager with all Instructor Trainer and external contract Agreements

Additional responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Manager in preparing annual budget, mid-year review and fiscal objectives
  • Other projects as assigned

Skills and qualifications

  • 4-5 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experienced leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Previous team management experience is an asset
  • Ability to respond and manage a variety of tasks with shifting priorities
  • Strong time-management, attention to detail, prioritization, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, CRM, File-maker Pro or other database system
  • Knowledge of fitness industry/ educational programs an asset
