Education Sales Manager

Position overview

In this role of Education Sales Manager for designated international territories, you will grow education sales in the territory through increasing prospecting and sales activities, with responsibilities for generating revenue of Merrithew branded programming and products through new and existing hosting facilities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Development & Sourcing, working with Hosting Coordinators, and collaborating with Hosting Account Manager, develop new host sites, grow territorial sales, manage customer relationship, and provide superior customer service to designated host training centers in designated territories.

Major responsibilities

Maximizing sales results through business analysis, planning, marketing and execution required to grow Merrithew branded programming education revenues through host training centres from both growing sales in existing host centres as well as establishing new hosting opportunities.

  • Business planning and sales growth
    • Identify opportunities of business growth and increase hosting frequencies and stimulate more diversified program as well as to facilitate equipment sales opportunities through education
    • Meet annual sales revenue target in both education and equipment sales opportunities brought by hosting
    • Planning of territorial- based sales growth projections and execution road map to meet business objectives allocated by Host Centres
    • Follow up on education leads from education training records, tradeshow leads, referrals from clients etc. and Wechat leads, manage them in CRM, convert into opportunities, close sales and establish new host centres in collaboration with Senior Director, Business Development and Sourcing
    • Grow recurring sales in Host Sites in increasing frequency of hosting and coordinate IT scheduling resources amongst multiple host site in the same territory as well as with other territories
    • Converting new host sites into long term hosting partners
  • Providing customer service
    • Provide seamless customer service to Host Centres in guiding them through processes and policies so they can be successful. Act as the go-to consultant for Host Centres in terms of Merrithew education offering, program choices, career path for instructors
    • Coordinate with Programming Team to help facilitate smooth operation to maintain customer relationship
    • Work closely with Marketing and Commercial team to support the marketing and event initiatives to promote Merrithew education in line with territorial business objectives and growth plans
    • Help develop and fine tune departmental and cross-functional processes to improve efficiency in support business growth
    • Assisting translation of collaterals and education-related content per needed

Skills and qualifications

  • 5+ years of B to B experience selling services to decision makers in an international business setting
  • Previous experience as a sales manager for international markets like China or Russia is highly preferred
  • Strong prospecting/hunting skills, proactiveness to winning and closing deals puts you on top of the world
  • Able to plan, construct and deliver business proposals and presentations
  • Experience interacting with customers in a sales environment that involves email selling, social media prospecting, trade show interaction, demand creation and/or account management
  • Highly result-driven, self-motivated personality that shows perseverance and can overcome objections to achieve sales targets in a results-oriented environment
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, confident, well-spoken, outgoing, proactive and professional
  • Active listener with a consultative approach to understanding client needs
  • Supreme ability to organize yourself, your tasks, and manage your time to be highly productive
  • Ability to work at flexible hours to deliver timely effective customer experience in an international environment
  • Great teammate – You enjoy working as part of a team, you want to be relied upon and you understand that outcomes are a result of a lot of people contributing
  • Exceptional skills with data analysis using excel and CRM
  • Fluency in Mandarin, Spanish or Russian language, besides English, is a must for this position
  • Digital marketing experience with Chinese social media and other western social media is an asset
  • Up to 10% travel time to designated territory may be required
