Director, Education

Position overview

The Director, Education oversees our Studio & Corporate Training Center, Licensed Training Centers and Hosting in assigned territories, ensuring overall operations are aligned with the department’s sales strategy and goals for the fiscal year. Conducts ongoing analysis of competitors and industry trends to identify current best practices and potential opportunities for future program development based on research. Provides strategic recommendations on how to package/sell programs in order to attract, convert and retain instructors to the education programs.

Major responsibilities

Studio & Corporate Training Center (CTC)

  • Oversee Studio and Corporate Training Center operations
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained towards not only students but Instructor Trainers and Studio Instructors
  • Prepare bi-annual sales plans with specific, actionable and quantifiable goals for the Studio and CTC
  • Monitor monthly revenue for Studio & CTC and provide regular updates to senior management on plans for reaching annual goals and outline identified opportunities to assist with growth potential
  • Identify gaps with Studio & CTC and continuously find ways to improve
  • Assist with the planning of yearly budget/revenue goals
  • Meet annual revenue goals

Licensed Training Centers (LTC)

  • Ensure that the highest level of customer service is delivered to our LTC partners by the LTC team and relevant administration is conducted in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide guidance and support to team for managing challenging situations and conflict resolution
  • Evaluate LTC performance and overall relationship with Merrithew on an ongoing basis and provide annual updates to senior management, along with recommendations for the future of the relationship
  • Participate in annual budget planning process
  • Play key role in developing a plan to transition our current Licensed Training Center model to a new/hybrid model
  • Meet annual revenue goals


  • Meet annual revenue goals for Hosting and Symposium events in assigned territories
  • Oversee the growth of Hosting in assigned territories through the execution of market specific sales strategies
  • Continuously identify and pursue market development opportunities for Hosting
  • Assist with the planning of yearly budget/revenue goals for Hosting and Symposium events within the assigned territories
  • Meet annual revenue goals

Management of Staff

  • Oversee Studio & Corporate Training Center Manager and team
  • Oversee Senior Account Managers, Hosting and team
  • Oversee Licensed Training Center Manager and team
  • Meet annual revenue goals

Skills and qualifications

  • University or College Degree in Business Administration
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of Management experience
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong business and sales background
  • Strong change management and conflict management skills with demonstrated success working under pressure
  • A creative self-starter and self-directed leader that can navigate complex challenges
  • Passionate for process improvement, design, development; and developing out of the box solutions to tough problems
  • Flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment. Willingness to learn and ability take on multitude of tasks and collaborate across departments
  • Positive professional demeanor with excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
