Account Manager, Global Hosting (Australia & Japan)

Position overview

In this bi-lingual (Japanese/English) role as Account Manager, Global Hosting (Australia & Japan), you will grow education hosting sales in the assigned territories through increasing sales activities and results, with responsibilities for generating revenue of Merrithew® branded programming and products through new and existing hosting facilities. Reporting to Sr. Sales Manager, Global Hosting, and work closely with a Hosting Coordinator, you will manage existing Host Centre sales and relationships, and converting new to long-term Host Centres and provide superior customer service in designated territories.

Major responsibilities

Business planning and sales growth

  • Identify opportunities of business growth and increase hosting frequencies and stimulate more diversified program as well as to facilitate equipment sales opportunities through education
  • Meet annual sales revenue target in education sales opportunities brought by hosting
  • Planning of territorial - based sales growth projections and execution road map to meet business objectives
  • Grow recurring sales in Host Sites in increasing frequency of hosting and coordinate IT scheduling resources amongst multiple host site in the same territory as well as with other territories
  • Work closely with your supervisor and Director of Operation, Global Hosting to optimize Instructor Trainers in the region for assignments within the territories and maintain healthy working relationship with the Instructor Trainers for their hosting needs as well as assigning them to teach at other Host Centres
  • Work closely with Commercial Sales Managers, resellers and distributors for designed regions to grow equipment sales through education
  • Conducting market research to identify new leads and prospect opportunities for new host centres
  • Follow up on education leads from education training records, tradeshow leads, referrals from clients etc., convert into opportunities, close sales and establish new host centres
  • Converting new host sites into long term hosting partners

Administrative/Customer service

  • Provide seamless customer service to Host Centres in guiding them through processes and policies so they can be successful. Act as the go-to consultant for Host Centres in terms of Merrithew education offering, program choices, career path for instructors
  • Manage new and newer Host Centre clients through building a healthy partnership relationship while handholding them to success, correct non-compliances of Merrithew policies and guidelines
  • Work closely with Marketing and Commercial team to support the marketing and event initiatives to promote Merrithew education in line with territorial business objectives and growth plans
  • Help develop and fine-tune departmental and cross-functional processes to improve efficiency in support business growth
  • Assisting translation of education-related content per needed

Skills and qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales and account management experience selling business solutions
  • Bi-lingual English & Japanese is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree with business-related studies
  • Previous experience as account manager in an international setting, esp. experience with Japan and Australia market preferred
  • Experience interacting with customers in a sales environment that involves email selling, social media prospecting, trade show interaction, demand creation and/or account management
  • Highly result-driven, self-motivated personality that shows perseverance and can overcome objections to achieve sales targets in a results-oriented environment
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, confident, well-spoken, outgoing, proactive, a natural communicator and relationship builder
  • Active listener with a consultative approach to understanding client needs
  • Supreme ability to organize yourself, your tasks, and manage your time to be highly productive
  • Ability to work at flexible hours to deliver timely effective customer experience regionally and internationally
  • You enjoy working as part of a team, you want to be relied upon and you understand that outcomes are a result of a lot of people contributing to a common goal
  • Exceptional skills with data analysis using excel and CRM
  • Up to 10% travel time to designated territory may be required
