Option 1: CMR – Comprehensive Matwork & Reformer Training
Available on a regular basis at the Toronto Corporate Training Center and periodically at select Training Centers worldwide.

This comprehensive program is designed for you if you’re new to the industry or looking to build a strong foundation through in-depth study and guided apprenticeship. It welcomes learners with little to no prior teaching experience, limited knowledge of functional anatomy and minimal exposure to Pilates (recommended 30+ hours).
What You’ll Take with You:
- A 310-hour curriculum spread over 9 to 12 months.
- Integrated training that connects Matwork, Reformer and functional anatomy.
- Practical, hands-on apprenticeship with observation in a group-class setting.
- Mentorship from leading Instructor Trainers in a supportive studio environment.
- A structured, in-person format designed to build confidence and mastery.
*Please note: Apprenticeship requirements must be fulfilled at the training location where the course is undertaken.
“CMR provides an in-depth exploration of the STOTT PILATES® Movement System, supporting students in developing the knowledge, teaching skills and hands-on experience needed to become confident, capable instructors,” Wayne highlights. “It’s ideal for those who want a fully immersive learning environment with mentorship and support at every step.”
Option 2: IMP – Intensive Mat-Plus™
Available at STOTT PILATES Training Centers worldwide.

This focused program is ideal if you want to start with Matwork. This fast-track course teaches you how to create and lead safe, effective mat-based workouts with confidence.
A solid understanding of functional anatomy is a prerequisite for enrollment. You should have completed an anatomy course covering the musculoskeletal system in detail, including muscle attachments, actions and basic biomechanics. Suitable courses include the STOTT PILATES® Functional Anatomy course, STOTT PILATES® Bone Health and Exercise for Osteoporosis or a university / college-level anatomy or physiology class with a minimum of 20–25 hours of in-class instruction. Online courses may also be accepted if they include comparable content, assignments and/or final exam assessments.
What You’ll Take with You:
- A 40-hour curriculum of foundational Matwork training.
- Focused skill-building in repertoire, programming, cueing and corrections.
- Practical skills ready for immediate use in group or one-on-one settings.
- Flexible format with two modules that can be taken up to six months apart.
- Local training designed to build your confidence and teaching ability.
Option 3: IR – Intensive Reformer
Available at STOTT PILATES Training Centers worldwide.

If you want to start with equipment-based Pilates, this streamlined program is your entry point to building confidence with the Reformer repertoire from day one. You’ll need a solid understanding of functional anatomy and a readiness to focus your training specifically on the Reformer.
What You’ll Take with You:
- A 50-hour curriculum focused on Reformer training.
- Essential and intermediate Reformer repertoire and programming with progressions.
- Science-based movement principles to support diverse client needs.
- Modular, intensive training split into two flexible modules, with the option to complete IMP later or stack towards full certification.
- Training designed for those already working in movement, fitness or rehab settings.
“You can begin from any point in your professional journey,” Wayne adds. “Modular programs like IMP and IR are designed to meet you where you are, offering practical, real-world training whether you’re just starting out or already teaching in another movement discipline.”
