Exercise of the Month: Supported Chop

Are you looking for a new, innovative way to boost your fitness routine?

The Halo® Trainer Plus is a versatile piece of tool that can take your workout to the next level. Merrithew® Master Instructor Trainer Jen Dahl guides us through Supported Chop using the Halo Trainer Plus, Stability Ball and the Resistance Loop. This exercise is from Interval 6 of the Building Intensive Interval Programs workshop.

Pro tip: To get started, you'll attach the Resistance Loop to one of the short handles, ensuring it's securely fastened in place.

"Supported Chop, an effective cool-down exercise, enhances thoracic mobility and rotation by engaging the ipsilateral obliques. This movement opens up the hip joint and primarily involves the rotation of the spine, activating the internal and external obliques.

This exercise emphasizes spinal rotation over shoulder movement when performed with the Resistance Loop. It stimulates fascial fluid flow due to the created recoil effect,” Jen says.
