Expect three fun-filled days of learning, growing and networking with Merrithew’s mind-body community and world-class instructors. Here are five reasons why you can’t miss this year’s event!
1. Learn from the leaders in mindful movement
Our Mindful Movement Symposiums offer a rare opportunity to gain hands-on instruction from our world-class Master and Lead Instructor Trainers, including Kim Kraushar, Bianca Bolissian and Sarah Jarvis.
Co-founder, Executive Director of Education and Master Instructor Trainer Moira Merrithew will also be teaching two workshops. Meet, greet and hang out with the minds behind the movements!
2. The latest and greatest education
If you’ve been keeping up with what’s predicted to be a hot fitness trend in 2020, interval training and training with free weights are in the top five. The Merrithew team will be presenting four of its newest STOTT PILATES® workshops at the New York Symposium, many of which tap into those trends and the research behind them, including Sliding Mobility Disks™ for Dynamic Stabilization, Matwork, Jumpboard and Cross-Bow™ Interval Training, Soft Kettlebell Workout and Breathing & Mobility on the Stability Barrel™ Lite.
3. Expect to get sweaty
The best way to learn is by doing, so expect to get sweaty and be active at our symposiums. At your workshop, you’ll get to test out Merrithew equipment and props, with the opportunity to purchase demo equipment in the Marketplace afterwards. Your Instructor Trainer will teach, lead and demonstrate the exercises, and you’ll be encouraged to try them out for yourself and practice with others, while receiving feedback and assistance as you progress.
4. Earn your CECs
Get a head start on earning your 2020 Continuing Education Credits by choosing from a variety of interesting and thought-provoking workshops. These workshops will help you improve your teaching skills and give you ideas and techniques that you can take back to your clients, classes and studios.
5. Experience New York
New York is one of the most exhilarating cities to visit and there’s never a shortage of activities.
Experience the city from a new vantage point and enjoy sweeping views of the skyline from the Empire State Building, the Top of the Rock, or One World Observatory. Check out one of the many plays on or off Broadway, including a new musical about Princess Diana. Or be dazzled by the New York Botanical Garden’s annual Orchid Show, described as a kaleidoscopic display of color.
