canfitpro fitness experts test their knowledge on the Pilates Reformer

canfitpro Recap

If there’s one thing that always catches people’s attention, it’s the Merrithew® Reformer, and last week at the canfitpro conference and trade show, the SPX® Max Reformer (Jet Black) was the star attraction.

It was a hit with everyone, from curious fitness enthusiasts to experienced Pilates Matwork practitioners.

By the time these first-time users had completed their mini-workout with our STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructors and Merrithew® Instructor Trainers, the common consensus was that these machines work wonders. Here, two attendees share their first impressions.

Tarlan Jahanbakhsh
Goodlife Personal Trainer, Pilates instructor in Iran

“My goal was to come and find the Merrithew booth to try the Reformer. I was a Pilates instructor in Iran but we didn’t have Reformers. We trained on the mat, with balls and resistance bands. So I was really looking forward to trying out the Reformer and it’s as amazing as I expected.

“I would love to have one of these and live on it! You can see where your weaknesses are and your lack of control. It helps you achieve optimal movement and you can’t go off track. It’s the best way to train your body. I love being a Pilates instructor because it’s about people’s mind-body health; it’s about strength and control paired with deep breathing. It helps prevent injury, it helps with daily life, it helps with balance and core. I’m in love with Pilates.”

Gym fanatic from Richmond Hill, Ontario

“I’m a gym fanatic. I go to the gym six to seven times per week and I mostly do cardio workouts. This is my first time working out on this machine and I love it, everything about it— how it engages all the muscle groups and how you can do so many workouts on it. It does everything: it challenges range of motion, core, glutes, all-in-one.

“I’m someone who loves trying new things and I’m into high-intensity cardio workouts. So I assumed Pilates would be boring, but if this is Pilates, then yes, I’ll try it. It seems more challenging than I thought. I could do this all day.”
