On its own, your Reformer can give you programming options to suit every client need. Variable spring resistance, adjustable footbar, ropes, straps and pulleys, allow for exercises in a variety of planes that target almost every muscle group. But you don’t need to stop there. Mat Converters, traditional and V2 Max Plus Vertical Frames, can expand the exercise repertoire substantially, providing even greater benefit for you and your clients.
The Mat Converter effectively transforms any style of MERRITHEW™ Reformer – V2 Max, Rehab or SPX series – into a raised mat surface. The dense EVA foam provides maximum comfort and accurate proprioceptive feedback making it ideal for performing a full range of Matwork-based exercises. Larger props like the Arc Barrel or Pilates Edge will fit comfortably on top. For less mobile exercisers who are not able to get down to or up from a floor mat, the added height gives them the opportunity to benefit from the basic Matwork exercises.
Another accessory that multiplies programming choices is the Vertical Frame. Also available for all Reformer types, the Vertical Frame attaches securely to the back, or pulley end of the Reformer. Included springs can be used in conjunction with the Reformer to add challenge to the legs during Footwork or to support the legs while supine in exercises like the Hundred. Add the Mat Converter to the picture and instantly be able to perform the majority of exercises in the Cadillac/Trapeze Table repertoire. The availability of arm springs, leg springs, roll-down bar and push-thru bar augment the unilateral, bilateral and reciprocal opportunities for instructor and client alike.
The V2 Max Plus Vertical Frame represents one of the most innovative equipment developments in the MH&F equipment line. It sports all the features of the traditional Vertical Frame, but has one major addition. Vertical traveling pulleys allow the Reformer user to dramatically alter the angle of pull which alters the challenge, increases the range and proliferates the number of movements possible. Specifically designed to be used with the V2 Max Plus Vertical Frame, the Reformer carriage boasts a state-of-the-art retractable rope system to make the unit easily adjustable for different users. Exercises can be performed in all orientations, including standing, sitting and lying on the side with this limitless addition.
In addition to using Reformers with the uprights, both the Vertical Frame and V2 Max Plus Vertical Frame can support exercises performed off the back end from a standing position. Once again, Roll-Down Bar, Push-Thru Bar and Arm and Leg springs are utilized to complete full-body workouts for high-level, mid-range or even rehab clients.
