STOTT PILATES® diversifies and expands unrivaled home DVD library with new and innovative trend-driven programming

TORONTO, July 4, 2007 – STOTT PILATES, the producer of the world's largest library of Pilates home exercise DVDs containing over 70 titles, has expanded its collection adding more than 50 new workouts, with the first 12 set to hit store shelves this summer.

“We created these new titles in response to the demand from our consumers and fitness professionals for fresh, sport-tailored and life stage-specific programming,” says Lindsay G. Merrithew, President and CEO of STOTT PILATES. "As with our other titles, these inspiring workouts will connect with everyone from home exercisers to Pilates instructors, and help improve performance, reduce stress, strengthen and tone the body, and boost self confidence.”

Anticipated new programming includes Prenatal Pilates, Jumpboard Interval Training and Golf Conditioning, as well as workouts with new props and equipment like the V2 Max Plus Reformer™* and the Pilates Edge™, recent additions to the company’s cutting-edge roster. To accommodate expectant mothers and elite athletes, new DVDs geared to those audiences will feature a tailored version of the Five Basic Principles – the biomechanic pillars of the STOTT PILATES method required for proper technique.

Touted as an exercise regime for a lifetime, Pilates has been lauded for everything from athletic cross training results to post rehab and prenatal benefits, fueling its popularity among the masses. In fact, according to a study done by the Sporting Goods Manufacturer’s Association, in 2006 alone there were more than 10,355,000 Pilates participants in the United States, 1,600,000 of whom are frequent participants (100+/year).

STOTT PILATES DVDs feature workouts led by STOTT PILATES Co-founder and Master Instructor, Moira Merrithew, a former ballet dancer and student of Romana Kryzanowska, the Pilates instructor trained by the late Joseph Pilates himself. Select DVDs also feature renowned fitness gurus and long-time STOTT PILATES Licensed Training Center owners John Garey and PJ O’Clair. A former United States National Aerobics Champion, John Garey owns John Garey Pilates in California and is a regular contributor to publications such as Men’s Health. Internationally sought-after instructor and presenter PJ O’Clair owns Northeast Pilates, New England’s largest STOTT PILATES Licensed Training Center with locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
