Intensive Program

The STOTT PILATES® Intensive Program (Level 1) is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, or those who have completed the Functional Anatomy course and meet the Pilates class requirements. The focus is on expanding student’s current knowledge while delivering complete instruction in STOTT PILATES principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a fast-paced format.

This option is ideal for those who are unable to devote the amount of time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues.

Intensive Program choices:

  • Intensive Reformer – IR
  • Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – ICCB

After completing any of these programs students will be prepared to teach the entire Essential and Intermediate repertoires.

Our programs provide a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire.

General Course Objectives:

  • How to apply STOTT PILATES biomechanical principles of core stability, breathing and alignment to all exercises
  • A complete breakdown of each exercise
  • Exercise goals, muscular initiation and movement sequencing
  • Modifications to increase or decrease exercise intensity
 
  • Modifications for specific body types and postural issues
  • How to recognize optimal and less than optimal movement patterns
  • A variety of programming options to keep clients motivated
  • Effective communication, verbal cues and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

Intensive Mat-Plus™ – IMP

This course is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, as well as those who are unable to devote the time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues. Conducted over 2 weeks or 3 weekends. Building on your industry knowledge it teaches you to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Matwork repertoire, for personal or group training settings for a range of clients. You will leave with a solid foundation and required skills to develop effective and motivating Pilates Matwork programs.

What you will learn:

  • The STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles
  • Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts
  • Flex-Band, Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel variations
  • Effective communication and observational skills
  • Verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • Theory and practice of postural analysis
  • 63 exercises plus modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises
  • Exercise layering related to effective program design
  • Workout composition for personal and group training

Requirements of Certification

  • 40 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum of 10 hours of observation
  • Minimum of 30 hours of physical review
  • Minimum of 15 hours of practice teaching
  • Total: 95 hours

Observation, Practice Teaching & Physical Review

A minimum number of hours of observation, practice teaching and physical review are required for all courses and should be completed between instructed sessions at any STOTT PILATES® facility. Additional training may be required before certification. Practice teaching and physical review hours must be logged outside of class time and submitted at the time of the practical exam.

Physical Review

IMP1- Module 1 & IMP2- Module 2

To help accommodate your schedule, we also offer Intensive Mat-Plus in two modules – IMP1 & IMP2. Key learnings are the same as the full course. Completion of both modules is required to be eligible for certification. IMP1 is a pre-requisite of IMP2. Both modules must be taken within 6 months of each other.

IMP1- Module 1

Provides the solid foundation and skills needed to develop effective personal training programs. Learn to design and teach the Essential portion of the Level 1 repertoire with 38 unique exercises plus multiple modifications and progressions.

  • 25 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum 6 hours observation
  • Minimum 20 hours physical review
  • Minimum 10 hours practice teaching
  • Total: 61 hour
     
IMP2- Module 2

IMP2 expands on the foundation and skills developed in the first segment as you learn to design programs incorporating the Intermediate repertoire. Learn 25 unique exercises plus multiple modifications and progressions.

  • 15 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum 4 hours observation
  • Minimum 10 hours physical review
  • Minimum 5 hours practice teaching
  • Total: 34 hours

Intensive Reformer™ - IR

This course is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, as well as those who are unable to devote the time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues. Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends. Building on your industry knowledge it teaches you to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Reformer repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients. You will leave with a solid foundation and required skills to develop effective and motivating Pilates Reformer programs. While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing IMP first.

What you will learn:

  • The STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles
  • Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts
  • Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
  • Effective communication and observational skills
  • Verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • Theory and practice of postural analysis
  • 139 exercises plus modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises
  • Exercise layering related to effective program design
  • Workout composition for personal and group training

  • 50 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum of 10 hours of observation
  • Minimum of 40 hours of physical review

Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – ICCB

This course is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, as well as those who are unable to devote the time required in our Comprehensive Program due to work and/or scheduling issues. Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends. Students registering for this course must have completed Intensive Mat Plus or Intensive Reformer. The Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels course has been structured into three separate modules; ICAD, ICHR and IBRL, to give you maximum flexibility. Completion of all three modules is required to be eligible for certification.

Intensive Cadillac - ICAD

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in IMP or IR you learn to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Cadillac repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients. 125 exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table

What you will learn:

  • A variety of exercises performed on the Cadillac Trapeze Table through the full Essential and Intermediate repertoire
  • To become better acquainted with the Cadillac as a tool to create complete workouts or as a complement to routines featuring Matwork and other equipment
  • To observe and experience a variety of exercises utilizing the Cadillac’s features including the Roll-Down Bar, Push-Thru Bar, Trapeze, Leg and Arm Springs
  • The goals of each exercise, biomechanics and alignment, as well as cueing and correcting for safety and effectiveness
  • How to apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to a variety of exercises, variations and modifications
  • Familiarity with the safety guidelines and application of the equipment for a variety of clients

Requirements of certification

  • 25 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum of 10 hours of observation
  • Minimum of 15 hours of physical review
  • Minimum of 10 hours of practice teaching
  • Total: 60 hours

Intensive Stability Chair™ - ICHR

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in IMP or IR you learn to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Stability Chair repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients.

What you will learn:

  • Functional exercises to develop core strength against spring resistance in a variety of positions, including standing, sitting, prone and side-lying
  • How to apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to Essential and Intermediate-level Stability Chair exercises
  • Better understanding of movement essence and exercise goals, proper execution and muscle activation
  • How to improve core stability, increase peripheral strength and enhance mobility on one piece of equipment
  • How the split-pedal option transforms exercises by challenging bilateral, unilateral and reciprocal strength and stability
  • Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness

Intensive Barrels - IBRL

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in IMP or IR you learn to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients.

What you will learn:

  • How to apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to exercises on the Arc Barrel, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel
  • Exercises from the STOTT PILATES Essential and Intermediate Barrel repertoire
  • To understand movement essence and exercise goals
  • How to support the spine in flexion, lateral flexion or extension, to target core and peripheral muscle groups, and to adapt exercises to specific body types
  • How to incorporate the barrels into a full-body workout and program for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • To develop effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

In the Intensive stream we’re looking for self-directed and highly motivated people with industry-specific knowledge and skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ideal candidates include:

  • Current health and fitness professionals with prior teaching experience
  • Career changers who would like to begin their training while still working full time 

Admission Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Functional Anatomy and prior participation in an anatomy course such as the STOTT PILATES Functional Anatomy course or a semester long university or college level anatomy or physiology course (30-40 hours of in-class instruction) covering Human Musculoskeletal System, Origins, Insertions, and Actions of Muscles. No online course, long-distance learning, or self-study.
  • Minimum 30 hours participation in Pilates classes/workouts

Recommended

  • Three+ years teaching movement or fitness. Applicants with a strong history of Pilates participation and/or experience instructing students/clients in another field may also be considered.

General Exam Information

Where can I take my exam?

Option 1:
It is strongly recommended that you take your written and practical exams at our Toronto Corporate Training Center or at any of our Licensed Training Centers or at a Hosting Center. The written and practical components may be taken on different days but MUST be taken within 7 days of one another and completed at the same venue or both portions submitted via proctor.


Option 2 – By Proctor
Written exam:
If you are unable to complete the written portion of your exam at a Training Center you have the option of writing the exam by Proctor. Use of a public library is standard protocol for most STOTT PILATES course examinations as these locations Proctor a variety of examinations for various organizations.

The conditions of a proctored exam include the following:

  • A third, uninterested party (notary or public library) must oversee/supervise the written exam
  • Exam must be taken within the six-month period after the last certification course was completed
  • Exam fees (practical and written) must be paid in full prior to sending the written exam to the specified Proctor

Proctored Exam Procedures
Contact the MH&F Education Department at 1-800-910-0001 ext. 0984 or email education@merrithew.com to express your intent to write an exam by Proctor.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • Exam location (i.e. public library), mailing address, and phone number
  • Contact person supervising the written exam
  • Method of payment (VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, or money order)

The exam package will be sent to the contact person at the specified exam location. It will contain the following:

  • STOTT PILATES certification course written exam (1 copy)
  • Receipt of payment (2 copies)
  • Pre-addressed return envelope
Student Responsibilities:

Proctor Responsibilities:

  • Set time and date to write the exam
  • Provide up-to-date contact information (phone numbers and email address) on the written exam so that we can notify you of the results.
  • Complete Observation and Practice Logs. We will not process practical exams without this accompanying paperwork.

 

  • Receive the examination package
  • Supervise the examination process (date, time, and location to be agreed upon by the proctor and student)
  • Seal the pre-addressed return envelope (with completed written exam and receipt of payment enclosed) and sign the back portion of the sealed envelope to ensure authenticity. The student is responsible for postage for this package

 

Practical exam:

The practical component exam can be submitted by DVD, USB stick/key or secured link. The purpose of the practical examination is to observe you as you lead a “subject” through a workout. The subject must be familiar with the STOTT PILATES repertoire covered in the exam and be capable of doing required exercises safely (student, certified instructor, client, etc). The videotaped workout will be one hour for the Matwork or Reformer exam, 1-1/2 hours for the Matwork& Reformer exam, and 2 hours for the Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels exam.

Technical Considerations:

  • Position the camera to observe a side view of the subject's body and allow for an additional three feet on either end ensuring enough room to move about. Keep the view close enough to allow details in the movement and the interaction between you and your subject.
  • Test the video equipment and sound level and make sure that it records properly and that your voice can be heard on the tape.
  • Face the camera (instruct on the far side of their subject to not obstruct the view).Camera adjustments should be performed at natural breaks in the examination process (i.e. between the postural analysis and Matwork or between the Matwork and Reformer).
  • The recording should NOT be stopped at any point during the examination. The workout should be continuous.
  • Video editing is NOT permitted.
  • The use of notes including postural analysis check list or manuals is NOT permitted
  • The submission must be sent in by DVD (mini DVD or DVD and DVD must be a brand name DVD (e.g. Sony)), USB stick/key or secured link.

Conducting the Practical Exam:

How do I schedule an exam?

Please contact our Toronto Corporate Training Center or Licensed Training Centers to make arrangements to compete your exam in person. To Proctor your exam please contact the MH&F Education Department at 1-800-910-0001 ext. 0984 or email education@merrithew.com to express your intent to write an exam by Proctor.

How much does it cost for each exam?

Prices will vary depending on region and location. Please contact individual training centers for up-to-date pricing information.

How long do I have to complete my course examination?

You must take your exam within six months of completing your last STOTT PILATES Education course (this includes ISP). We encourage you to take some time afterward to practice and synthesize the information prior to taking the exam; however, you are welcome to take the exam immediately after you complete the course if you and your Instructor agree you are ready.

What if my course finished longer than six months ago?

If you have failed to meet the six-month requirement to complete your examination, you must complete private review hours with an instructor trainer to reinstate your eligibility. Material covered will be specific to your needs to better prepare you for the exam. The number of hours required is based on the course material that must be covered and the demands of the course repertoire. The MINIMUM private session requirements are:
  • Matwork – 1 hour
  • Reformer – 1 hour
  • Matwork & Reformer – 1 to 2 hours
  • Matwork, Reformer & CCB– 2 to 3 hours.

The Instructor Trainer may recommend further privates or study as preparation.

How long does it take to receive notification of my results?

Exam results will be sent directly to you, normally by email. The LTC and/or Instructor Trainer will also be informed of the marks. Marking takes between four to six weeks from the date of the exam. Please note exams are not returned but can be reviewed upon request.

Pass/ Fail

You must receive an average score of 80% (practical and written) and achieve a minimum score of 75% on each portion in order to pass. Both of these requirements must be met in order to achieve certification. If you have to retake a portion of or the entire exam, this should happen within six months of the date of the original exam. This ensures that the information remains relatively fresh but allows time to study and improve in the necessary areas.

If the six-month time limit has passed, you must take both the written and practical exams again and it is highly recommended that you also book privates with an Instructor Trainer.
If you take your exam for the first time and fail both portions, you have one more opportunity, within six months, to successfully pass the exam. If you fail both portions the second time, you must wait six months before retesting.

If you have only taken CMR, IMP, IR or ICCB courses and have not taken the Level 2 course(s) but wish to certify, you may take only a Level 1 exam. If you have taken AM, AR, or ACCB courses and already hold a Level 1 certification, you are only required to take the Level 2 practical exam. If you have taken all of the relevant courses but do not hold a Level 1 certification, you are eligible to take a combined Level 1 & 2 exam.


Please note:

  • If you hold Matwork certification and then want to certify in Reformer (or vice versa), you will be required to take a combined Matwork and Reformer exam so that we can test your ability to program various equipment repertoires together.
  • You are not obliged to take (and pay for) two or more exams if you are planning to take more than one course. You may wait until completion of the second or final course to take a combined repertoire exam.
  • If you choose to examine at Level 1 and wish to upgrade to Level 2 certification at a later date, a separate fee will apply.
  • If you test for a Combined Levels 1 & 2 certification, you may be awarded Level 1 certification only (and need to re-test on Level 2) or you may be awarded Level 1 in a certain portion of the repertoire and Level 2 in another portion.  A separate fee will apply for any re-testing.
  • You may choose to examine at Level 1 on a certain portion of the repertoire and at Level 2 on another portion. However, as a general rule, we do not recommend only testing on part of the repertoire learned. We encourage you, if at all reasonable, to test on all levels and all repertoire for the courses you have taken.
  • You are eligible to take a Full Certification exam if you have completed all levels of training on all pieces of equipment AND have also taken the Injuries & Special Populations course.
 

Practical Exam

What is the best preparation for the practical portion of my exam?

In addition to fully understanding the material conceptually and physically reviewing the exercises, the best preparation for the practical exam is the practice teaching of as many different people as possible (family, friends, classmates) to apply your knowledge, adapt it to many different body types, improve your teaching skills, and become comfortable with your teaching experience. Practice teaching within the specified timelines and meeting at least the minimum number of exercises.

What will I be asked to do for my practical exam?

The time allotment for each practical exam is as follows: 
  • Matwork – 1 hour  
  • Reformer – 1 hour  
  • Matwork & Reformer – 1.5 hours  
  • Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – 2 hours

Information Gathering: 5-10 minutes
The initial five to ten minutes of the exam should be dedicated to information gathering. You are required to ask your subject pertinent questions regarding history, physical condition and goals.

Postural Analysis: 5-10 minutes
For this portion of the exam, you are required to analyze the subject from both sides, front and back view. Using visual observation AND palpation, verbally relaying your findings to the examiner. You are also required to give a stated focus and general description of your planned workout including: what muscles / muscle groups will be targeted, what alignment issues will be addressed and what props or modifications may be necessary.

Five Basic Principles:5-10 minutes
Next you will take your subject through the Five Basic Principles in proper sequence, using clear imagery and movement cues to help the subject properly achieve biomechanical body awareness. You must clearly explain why each of the principles is important. The Workout: remaining time (see chart)
The remainder of the practical exam is dedicated to taking your subject through an appropriate workout. The time allotted for the workout portion of the exam will not allow for the completion of all exercises in the full repertoire. You must ensure that the exercises chosen represent a well-rounded workout that address all aspects of movement (i.e. flexion, extension, rotation, etc.) and cover the minimum required number of Essential, Intermediate or Advanced exercises, while being appropriate to your subject.

Please note:

  • Your subject should be someone who is capable of executing at an Advanced level.
  • It is important to incorporate the Fitness Circle®, Flex-Band® and Arc Barrel into the workout. 

How will I be evaluated?
The following areas will be evaluated:

  • Postural analysis
  • Stated focus of workout; clear, concise and appropriate.
  • The Five Basic Principles: taught separate of the Warm Up in Matwork and applied to all the exercises
  • Teaching manner and energy (attitude, motivational, verbalization skills). You are guiding your subject with control and develop a rapport with your subject.
  • Ability to cue: use of imagery, verbal cues, and kinesthetic cues (touch) to aid in guiding your subject through the exercises and transitions, cues should specific to your subject and be a combination of muscular and tactile cues and imagery to achieve movement to incorporate and reinforce all basic principles.
  • Ability to correct: use of imagery, verbal cues, and kinesthetic cues (touch) to ensure correct alignment and proper execution of exercises; knowledge from course(s) to achieve dynamically stabilized, conscious and safe movement.
  • Knowledge of content, knowing the relevant repertoire of exercises and the corresponding movement and breath patterns, minimum number of exercises for each piece and level.
  • Exercise progression and rationale for the exercises chosen, applying adaptations and modifications as necessary.
  • Rhythm and pace of the workout: fluidity, using transitions from one exercise to another, choosing a pace that challenges the individual without compromising the Five Basic Principles or causing overexertion, and cueing in a manner that encourages proper timing of movement and breath, the workout fit the required amount of time for the exam

Please note:
Expect to be questioned periodically on the exercises and your choices. This is to evaluate the depth of your understanding of the exercises and how to administer them. After working on each individual piece of equipment you may be asked to teach a few exercises of the examiner’s choosing to “spot check” your knowledge of the entire repertoire. Completed Observation and Practice Logs must be brought to the practical exam as exams will not be processed unless accompanied by these logs.

 

Written Exam

What do I need to know for my written examination?

The written exam consists of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank or matching type questions, and muscle identification questions. It will take you approximately 2-3 hours to complete the exam. However, you are not required to finish within a specified time limit. The exam tests your knowledge of the following:

  • Muscle origin, insertion and action (please refer to list of muscles in the Matwork/Reformer Support Materials book)
  • Recognition of diagrams of individual muscles
  • Concentric, eccentric and isometric contractions of specific muscles during specific movements and exercises
  • Movements that make up exercises and their proper anatomical descriptions
  • Order of Essential and Intermediate Matwork (Matwork, Matwork & Reformer or Matwork, Reformer, & CCB exam)
  • Order of Essential and Intermediate Reformer (Reformer, Matwork & Reformer or Matwork, Reformer, & CCB exam)
  • Ideal postural alignment and groups of opposing muscles
  • Poor postural alignment and muscular imbalances
  • Modifications to exercises for poor postural alignments
  • Programs to accommodate poor postural alignments
  • Proper set up of equipment, starting positions, movement patterns, and major intent or goal for each exercise
  • The Five Basic Principles – anatomical descriptions and purpose
  • Proper anatomical terms must be understood and used in all the relevant categories above.

Please Note:
In addition to STOTT PILATES® manuals and support materials, outside resources such as Trail Guide to the Body, Andrew Biel; Atlas of Anatomy, Gilroy, MacPherson, Ross; Muscular System Flash Pak, Bryan Edwards; Anatomy Flash Cards, Anne Gilroy; Anatomy of Movement, Blandine Germain are highly recommended.

Prospective Pregnant Registrants

While it is considered safe and desirable to work out during pregnancy our courses can be quite demanding, and have not been tailored for pregnant women. We do not accept registration into our courses from students who are knowingly pregnant. Under certain circumstances permission may be granted for select workshops. Requests must be submitted in writing to the Senior Program Director, Education at least 30 days prior to the workshop date.

Auditing

We allow auditing of the following courses if a student has previously taken them: IMP, IR, ICAD, ICHR, IBRL, AM, AR, ACAD, ACHR, ABRL, CMR, and CCCB. We also allow auditing of the ISP course if taken post-June 2007 to present and the RMR1, RMR2, RCCB1 and RCCB2 courses if taken post-June 2012. Please contact your closest Training Center if you are interested in auditing. We do not however, allow auditing of any Functional Anatomy course and any of the workshops we offer (CEC / introductory) as the main goal of the workshops is continuing education and not certification.

Absenteeism & Make-up Hours

It is strongly advised that make-up hours are done as soon as possible after they are missed - especially if it occurs in the middle of a course. This allows students to cover the missed material prior to returning to the course. Please note that this is done in private review at the student’s expense. Students have six months to make up any hours missed. If they exceed this timeline, the course is forfeited and the entire course must be retaken in order to examine and certify.

  • Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs and Barrels Essential courses Less than five hours of a course - 2:1 ratio of hours missed to hours made up (i.e. students need to make up half the time in private review).  More than five hours of a course – 1:1 ratio of hours missed to hours made up (i.e. students need to make up the entire time in private review). 

  • Rehab, Anatomy courses, ISP and Advance courses Any make-up hours for these courses are done on a 1:1 ratio due to the density of the course material and the expectation that it will take the same amount of time to teach one student as to teach a group.

Note: Licensed Training Centers must inform us via the submitted class list that a student has not completed a course. A note will be made on the student's file. A letter of completion will be sent to the student when the Center has confirmed that the student has completed the remaining hours.

Date of Certification

Upon successful completion of the exam, students are considered certified instructors from their exam date. If the student takes the exam on two separate days, the latter date is the date that they may refer to themselves as a Certified Instructor. CECs are then earned the next full calendar year after one becomes certified, regardless of what month they examine in.

Video or Audio Recording

Audio or video recordings of courses being taught is strictly prohibited. If there are exceptional circumstances that make this necessary, the student must apply for and receive express written permission from the Senior Program Director, Education and sign a contract restricting its use. This policy is to help us avoid any infringement on our intellectual property.

Observation Hours

Observation hours can be logged during or after the course and can be accrued by watching a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor teach clients, as well as observing the relevant course package DVDs. We recommend that 80% of observation hours be completed by watching a Certified Instructor teach. Please contact your nearest Training Center or STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor, to arrange for observation.

Eligibility

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to participate in any STOTT PILATES® course, workshop or examination.

Special Exam Accommodations

Special exam accommodations may be arranged for students with disabilities or circumstances that prevent them from taking the STOTT PILATES written examination as outlined in our regular procedures. In order to be considered, a formal request supporting the student's situation must be provided to the Program Director, Education at least 30 days prior to the scheduled examination date. Merrithew Health & Fitness reserves the right to determine the reasonableness of the accommodation requested.

Cheating Policy

Merrithew Health & Fitness takes dishonest and unethical behavior very seriously. If a student is found to have cheated on any exam a mark of zero will be recorded for that exam and the student will be unable to re-take that exam for a minimum of six months. The re-take and any future exams will then need to be completed at our Toronto Corporate Training Center or at one of our Licensed Training Centers and may not be proctored. The student will be required to pay for a STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer to be present during the written exam. Merrithew Health & Fitness™ will not be held responsible for any adverse effect this policy may have.

Certification Appeals Process

Students who choose to appeal their certification score may do so in writing to the Senior Program Director, Education within 30 days of their exam scores being issued. All appeals will be attended to within 60 days of receipt.

Grievance and Appeals Process

Students who choose to submit a formal grievance regarding their education training may do so in writing to instructorcustomercare@merrithew.com within 30 days of the course or workshop completion. Grievances should include details regarding the specific situation, the desired resolution of the grievance, and any other relevant supporting information. All grievances will be attended to within 60 days of receipt.
