STOTT PILATES® Optimization of the Lumbo-Pelvic Region: Part B
Programming & Application of STOTT PILATES Exercises
This practical workshop session, developed by the MERRITHEW™ team, explores the optimization of movement and stabilization of the lumbo-pelvic region. Built on understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the lumbar spine, pelvis and hip, exercise progressions are demonstrated and performed. Participants review and apply post-rehabilitative theory (presented in part A), then identify programming priorities so appropriate exercises can be selected in order to optimize the function of this region.
*Note: Although presented separately, Part B assumes understanding of the concepts presented in Part A and is built as a continuation of this information. It is therefore advised that participants have a thorough working knowledge of the musculoskeletal anatomy of the lumbo-pelvic region and are fluent in the integrated model of joint stability, functional muscle classification system as well as current concepts of stability that are used in the application of STOTT PILATES exercises in either therapeutic or post-rehabilitative scenarios, if Part A has not been taken.
