Kristi received her MA in Dance at American University in Washington, D.C. in 1997, with core competencies in teaching, kinesiology, and choreography. She has danced professionally throughout the U.S and across Europe before becoming an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew Health & Fitness™ and a Lead IT for STOTT PILATES® in 2002.   Kristi realizes her passion for training new Pilates Instructors at Bodycenter Studios, her studio and a Licensed Training Center for the STOTT PILATES method in Seattle, Washington.

Laura Hicks

Laura’s passion for movement stems from her background as a classical ballet dancer. She has danced professionally throughout California, and currently performs with the North Atlanta Dance Theatre. Laura became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor in 2005 and an Instructor Trainer in 2008. Her dance experience has provided her with an exceptional understanding of alignment and movement, and her work with clients ranging from athletes to post rehabilitation patients has afforded her great skill in personalizing workouts to suit every activity level.

Laureen DuBeau

Laureen is an integral member of a dynamic team responsible for the global development and implementation of training and certification programs. Her spirited approach to teaching has made Laureen a vibrant international presenter, trainer and examiner. An NSCA certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, she began teaching Pilates in 1995 and is now a Merrithew Health & Fitness Master Instructor Trainer specializing in STOTT PILATES®. Laureen is a featured performer and associate producer of many Merrithew Health & Fitness DVDs, the associate editor of numerous teaching manuals and author of articles in several industry publications.Prior to joining Merrithew Health & Fitness, Laureen worked for Tennis Canada where she was responsible for Canadian and international public relations in the capacity of media relations and communications, player relations and event organization. Laureen studied Dance and Physical Education at York University in Toronto where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Lesley Spalding

Lesley received her STOTT PILATES® certification in 2008 and became an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew Health & Fitness™ specializing in STOTT PILATES in 2009. Her education also includes an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College. Lesley’s experience in the fitness industry spans over 20 years and she holds certifications that include AFFA Primary, Yogafit Level 1 & 2, and ReFlex Aerial Yoga. In addition to teaching STOTT PILATES education, Lesley works as a PLC Provider at Back in Motion Physical Therapy and she is partnered with National Multiple Sclerosis Society as an MS Movement Specialist.   Lesley directs the impressive “Art of Movement” Program at The Workhouse Arts Center, and whether working in a private setting, teaching a STOTT PILATES course or workshop, she loves sharing her knowledge from her training with others.

Leslie Braverman

Pacific Northwest Pilates Education

Leslie was a 15 year professional dancer when she was led to the STOTT PILATES® because of an injury and credits the method for prolonging her career. Leslie became a Certified Instructor in 1997 and an Instructor Trainer for Merrithew Health & Fitness™ in 2002. She was most recently awarded the designation of Lead IT for STOTT PILATES, which qualifies her to mentor other Instructor Trainers around the world. Throughout her dance career, she performed with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre and BODYVOX.  As a young dancer, she was a student of The North Carolina School of the Arts and was awarded the 1988 Peabody Scholarship Award for Excellence. Leslie loves utilizing her experience to train dancers, athletes, fitness clients and aspiring instructors. She has been co-owner of Pacific NW Pilates since its launch in 2001, and takes a primary role in managing and marketing the studio.
