Instructor Trainers

The STOTT PILATES® Faculty, or members of our esteemed team of Instructor Trainers, is made up of highly qualified and internationally sought-after educators who are known for their dedication, professionalism and attention to detail. All of our faculty members hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training. A diverse group, they come from various backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.

Dot Kavanaugh


Windsor, Ontario Canada

Dot became certified as a STOTT PILATES® Instructor in 2003, and in 2009 she became an Instructor Trainer for MERRITHEW™ specializing in STOTT PILATES.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Windsor in 2004, and is currently working on her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  In 2001 Dot received her certification as a Yoga Teacher by the Sivanada Yoga Group, and has acted as both the instructor and owner of The Yoga Centre in Windsor since that time.  She brings over 10 years of experience in teaching movement, and keeps her programming interesting and up to date by taking a variety of continuing education workshops.

Dr. Lisa Jayne Clarkson

Lisa first became aware of Pilates when she was 16 years old, but it wasn't until she joined ballet Memphis in 1999 that she was introduced to STOTT PILATES®. She received her STOTT PILATES certification in 1999 and became an Instructor Trainer for MERRITHEW™ specializing in STOTT PILATES Matwork and Reformer in 2009.  Lisa has a BS in Ballet with an Outside Field in French from Indiana University. She danced professionally for 10 years with Louisville Ballet, Lexington Ballet and Ballet Memphis and was a guest artist with a number of smaller companies. Most recently, Lisa graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in May of 2014 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and has recently relocated to the D.C. metropolitan area where she is working as both a Physical Therapist and a STOTT PILATES Instructor and IT. She is currently in an orthopedic residency program for Physical Therapy and is pursuing an orthopedic specialty license. Her continued education has enhanced and informed her teaching and personal practice.

Eden Paul

John Garey Fitness & Pilates

Eden is a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer for Mat and Reformer and has worked at John Garey Fitness & Pilates in many roles for the past 10 years. Eden is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been in the fitness industry for 20 years.

Elisha Elliott

While completing her Journalism degree in Australia, Elisha found Pilates and fell in love! She spent her college breaks taking multiple classes and she eventually studied to become a Fully Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor as well as a Cert IV Personal Trainer. The STOTT PILATES method of exercise and contemporary approach to mind-body fitness peaked Elisha’s interest and so in 2012, she was accepted into the STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer Program at the headquarters in Toronto. Currently an Instructor Trainer for MERRITHEW™ specializing in STOTT PILATES, CORE™ Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training™,  and ZEN•GA™. She continues to attend a variety of courses and workshops to make sure her knowledge is always up-to-date.

Elizabeth Cooper

Elizabeth became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor in 2000, and moved on to become an Instructor Trainer for MERRITHEW™ specializing in STOTT PILATES in 2003.  A graduate of the Senior Professional Program of the School of Contemporary Dancers, Elizabeth is the co-director of Momentum Arial & Acrobatic Troupe, and is also an aerial dance performer and choreographer.   In addition to her STOTT PILATES instructing, Elizabeth specializes in teaching and performing aerial silks, hoop, hammock, and static trapeze.
