Group SPX




For facility owners, managers and program directors who want to implement a quality group pilates program as quickly and effectively as possible, the STOTT PILATES Group SPX programming stream is the answer. Composed of Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) courses and workshops, Group SPX programming is designed to provide instructors with the core skills to teach matwork and reformer classes.

Group SPX Mat-Plus Training - GM

This course is designed specifically for trainers who teach in a group environment. Taught in two modules, instructors learn necessary skills to conduct safe Essential and Intermediate level group matwork classes with energy and effective cueing techniques. Instructors are eligible to take the certification exam once they have successfully completed both modules 1 & 2. Upon completion of this course, instructors can take the crossover program should they decide to enter one of the Intensive or Comprehensive programs that cover customized private STOTT PILATES training. In addition to these general objectives, this course covers:

Bullet How to conduct an orientation session that promotes group matwork or Mat-Plus classes to first time clients
Bullet Ten group matwork routines (Essential through Intermediate) integrating small equipment (Flex-Bands, Fitness Circles and Toning Balls), with a variety of intensity levels
Bullet Motivation and observation skills, as well as verbal cueing
and imagery specific to group training
Bullet Standard modifications to help the instructor deal with
different students in the same class
Bullet Form and functional anatomy involved in each exercise
Bullet More than 57 exercises, plus multiple modifications

Prerequisites
Bullet Working knowledge of functional anatomy
Bullet 30 hours pilates classes
Bullet Three-plus years teaching movement or fitness

Duration
Bullet 40 hours instruction & supervised teaching
Bullet Module 1 is 25 hours, Module 2 is 15 hours


After each 15 hour or 10 hour segment we recommend:
Bullet Minimum 3 hours of observation
Bullet Minimum 5 hours practice teaching
Bullet Minimum 10 hours physical review

NOTE: Modules must be taken within six months of each other.

Group SPX Reformer Training - GR

This course is specifically designed for trainers who teach in a group environment. Composed of two modules, it will provide instructors with the skills to conduct safe Essential and Intermediate level Group SPX Reformer classes with energy and effective cueing techniques. Instructors are eligible to take the certification exam once they have successfully completed both modules 1 & 2. Upon completion of this course, instructors can take the crossover program should they decide to enter one of the Intensive or Comprehensive programs that cover customized private STOTT PILATES training. In addition to these general objectives, this course covers:

Bullet How to conduct an orientation session to promote Group Reformer classes to new clients
Bullet Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
Bullet Twelve group reformer programs (Essential through Intermediate) with a variety of intensity levels
Bullet Motivation and observation skills, as well as verbal cueing and imagery specific to group classes
Bullet Standard modifications to help the instructor deal with different students in the class
Bullet Form and functional anatomy involved in each exercise
Bullet More than 120 Essential and Intermediate level exercises including warm ups and plyometric exercises using the Jumpboard, plus multiple modifications.

Prerequisites
Bullet Working knowledge of functional anatomy
Bullet 30 hours pilates classes
Bullet Three-plus years teaching movement or fitness

Duration
Bullet 50 hours of instruction & supervised teaching
Bullet Module 1 is 30 hours, Module 2 is 20 hours

After each 15 hour or 10 hour segment we recommend:
Bullet Minimum 3 hours of observation
Bullet Minimum 7 hours practice teaching
Bullet Minimum 10 hours physical review

NOTE: Modules must be taken within six months of each other.
