Instructor Trainers

The STOTT PILATES® Faculty, or members of our esteemed team of Instructor Trainers, is made up of highly qualified and internationally sought-after educators who are known for their dedication, professionalism and attention to detail.   All of our faculty members hold full certification in the STOTT PILATES method and have achieved additional designations to complement their training. A diverse group, they come from various backgrounds including physical therapy, exercise science, athletic therapy, dance and group and personal fitness training to name a few. Every member of the team strives to uphold the highest standards of training that have been developed worldwide.


Shane Belau

Bodycenter Studios
Seattle, Washington USA

Shane received a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in 1995 and has spent many years performing and teaching modern dance in the US and internationally. She became a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor in 2002 and an Instructor Trainer in 2004 and in 2008 she received her certification as a Duggan French Approach Practitioner (DFA) of Somatic Pattern Recognition.  Shane brings a strong background in movement education, anatomy and kinesiology to her teaching.

Sharon Currie

Core Pilates Studio

Sharon received her STOTT PILATES® certification in 2009 and became a STOTT PILATES® Instructor Trainer in 2012.  Sharon’s interest in movement began with dance, and over time evolved into a career in health and fitness.  After completing a bachelor and post graduate diploma in commerce, Sharon’s professional career specialized in sports product/apparel design and manufacture.  Sharon is now the owner of Core Pilates Studio in Auckland New Zealand, where she teaches and trains instructors in the STOTT PILATES® method from Australia and New Zealand.  She has a wealth of experience training clients with post-rehab needs and athletic conditioning.

Shauna Smith Yates

The Bodysmith
Springfield, Missouri USA

Shauna was first introduced to Pilates in 1999 as a rehab option and fell in love with the exercise.  Shortly thereafter, while completing her BA at Drury University, she began the process of becoming a STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructor.  She received her Full Certification in 2002, and the next year was designated as an Instructor Trainer. Shauna is the proud owner of The Bodysmith, a Pilates and fitness studio in Springfield, Missouri, where she teaches courses, workshops, privates, and group classes.

Stephanie Crank


Tampa, Florida USA

A professional ballet dancer for more than 12 years, Stephanie was introduced to the STOTT PILATES® method during her rehabilitation from a back injury. After retiring from the stage in 2001, Stephanie worked as a ballet instructor and an administrator in the Classical Ballet Training Program at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.  Her desire to give the students in the program the valuable benefit of Pilates prompted her to become a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor.  In 2003 she founded Pilates Movement Studio and became an Instructor Trainer for STOTT PILATES in 2008.

Tomo Tsuchida

Calgary Pilates
Calgary, Alberta Canada
Originally from Tokyo, Tomo obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University, where she and gained extensive practical experience working with the body as an aide in orthopedic physical therapy clinics. It was in the field of rehabilitation that Tomo discovered Pilates and she decided to pursue her STOTT PILATES® certification with the belief that the method could help people maintain a strong mind and body. She became an Instructor Trainer in 2009 and continually draws from her diverse background and knowledge of the human body in teaching students and helping clients achieve their fitness goals.
